A revival to be proud of

The rebuild

From a humble burger joint

Built on the grounds of a sugarcane plantation, our original restaurant was a humble burger joint that served good food and sensational views to a lively community that gathered here to eat, drink and play for over 16 years. A firm favourite on the island, we knew we had to rebuild and reopen after Hurricane Irma destroyed the entire compound in 2017.

In the spirit of island revival, we immediately began reconstructing the bar and restaurant with stronger materials and a fresh determination. Unveiling a sleek new look but with the same openness and warm hospitality, Sugarcane was launched again in May 2019.

All of our dishes are made from the freshest of ingredients and doused in local flavour. We've given classics a modern twist and injected fruits and spices to celebrate the tastes of Virgin Gorda. Share some crispy coconut shrimp dipped in passion fruit sauce by the pool's edge, or sit down with the whole family to enjoy juicy Angus burgers all round.

The Sugarcane bar is Nail Bay's lively watering hole. It is a place where sports fans gather to cheer on their teams, friends sip cocktails in the last light of day and parties reach full swing as stars decorate the sky.

In true Caribbean style, the cocktail menu at Sugarcane centres around white and dark rums. Our mixologists use the freshest of fruit juices and a smooth coconut cream for the full island experience. We also offer classic vodka or Martini-based cocktails, delicious margaritas, or a large range of beers and rums as well as an extensive selection of quality wines from all over the world.

At the restaurant's edge, the refreshing waters of our beach-facing pool offer our guests the chance for a quick dip before their meal or, for those with more time, the luxury of lazing in the shallows with a drink in hand. The pool is a big part of life at the Sugarcane and provides family with the space to swim and play among this incredible setting. With your choice of sun-loungers or swingseats to lull you under a sea breeze, you will want for nothing except to stay a lifetime.
